The theme for Book Week this year is “Doorways”
During library lessons, students from Kindergarten to Year 2 have been exploring the way in which books and stories are doorways to our imagination and the wonderful world of literature. We have been reading the picture books and deciding which of these books may be chosen as the best book for 2004.
Older students have taken some of the novels and will report back to their classes.
Book Week is organised by the Children’s Book Council. Each year the council submit a list of the books written by Australian authors. These books are purchased by the school and are available for student to borrow.
Winners will be declared on Friday, 20 th August.
To add to our celebrations the school will be hosting a Book Fair in the library during Education Week. Come into the library on Tuesday, 7 th and Wednesday 8 th September and buy a book
