NAIDOC Day

On Wednesday, 30th July, Samuel Gilbert acknowledged NAIDOC Day through participation in a variety of activities which explored the culture of the Torres Strait Islands.

Through storytelling, the making of the traditional head dress, the Dhari, and song and dance activities students were provided with a wonderful opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of indigenous people.

The day concluded with a whole school performance by Indidgdance where our children, all wearing their Dharis, joined the group to perform the songs and dances learnt during the day.
