Book Week Activities
Term 3 is a very busy and exciting time in the Library at Samuel Gilbert. Many interesting activities are taking place due to Book Week in Week 5 and this year's theme of FUEL YOUR MIND!
The focus of many Library lessons relate specifically to Book Week and extend to most classes throughout the term. The children are delighted with the variety of this year's Shortlisted books and are very amused by our Library Banner. The banner depicts a funny little "Brain Man" happily devouring a flock of books, under the slogan of "BOOKS ARE BRAIN FOOD!"
The banner was designed and created by well known Victorian artist Donald Cameron, who is now resides in Sydney. (Mrs Bridie - our relieving teacher Librarian, is lucky to know him well).
The children at Samuel Gilbert love coming to the Library and are currently striving to FUEL THEIR BODIES WITH FOOD and FUEL THEIR MINDS WITH BOOKS!
