The Key to Richard Horwood's Map of London.  1799-1819.
It shows the location of the hamlet of Mile End New Town, which lay to the East of White Chapel.
It also shows the proximity of the London Docks, the Bank of England and the suburbs of Shoreditch, Spitalfields, and Bethnal Green, which are mentioned in the Gilbert history.
